Background

Tony Eades

Tony was born at his Grandad’s house in Bedhampton and was a Hampshire boy until moving to Australia in his mid-teens. He spent his school days at Bidbury Middle School and Warblington SHS, where he re-started the school magazine and renamed it ‘The Warble’. Those humble journalistic beginnings must have been the seed that propelled him to publish this year his first book, ‘How To Start a Business in Two Weeks’.

His love for radio started early … “Every afternoon I’d race home on my bike from school and up to my bedroom for my 5 o’clock shift on the wireless – who was listening? No-one! But in my head I was talking to the world and I wanted to share my love of music!

I had my dual turntables fired up, radio jingles on the cassette ready to play – I was on fire – if only podcasting had been invented back then.”

And even though it was a fictional radio show, to me it felt so real and what happened on those evenings was pure magic, but that is no surprise—after all, music is magic.

In Australia Tony’s career moved to newspapers where he ran The Restaurant Guide for The West Australian during the day and was the resident DJ at Christies Nightclub in Fremantle by night. His highlight was dj’ing during the height of the America’s Cup Challenge that Australia won, the first America’s Cup race in 132 years that a country other than the USA won.

His radio career has spanned across West and East coast Australia, to Sydney where he now lives. These days he runs a global digital marketing agency, does key note speaking in Australia, Singapore and the US as well as running a weekly radio show on 89.1FM Radio Blue Mountains.

“I have always loved music. Few things have the power to transform our realities more rapidly than music – it can inspire joy or calm. It’s great to part of the Victory Team and be home with you in Hampshire again to share some great tunes and Aussie fun every Sunday afternoon”
