Gavin loved radio as soon as he realized he was alive. At 14 years old he was the youngest person to be accepted as a member and presenter at his local hospital radio station, and by 16 was on the air with the BBC. I grew up in a Naval Town. So, I very much relate to both the challenges and opportunities of a naval city in the current climate.
A long career in local commercial radio followed, and Gav ended up running some of the biggest stations in the UK.
Gavin says “35 years on, it’s still an absolute privilege every time I turn on the microphone.
Married with 2 adult children, He loves watching F1 with his son. Gavin had a life changing accident during lockdown while entertaining his bored neighbours, however he still has a brain and is a good communicator so is still good for radio.
I’m incredibly honoured to be a part of this iconic station. “
